Nervous System and its functions

(As described in text book of medical physiology by Guyton and Hall)

The functioning unit of nervous system is neuron. Its mechanism of functioning is not fully understood. All the supercomputers brought together cannot undisputedly explain mechanism of neuronal function. The unique process, by which thought generates in mind and is converted into a physical action, is not yet fully understood. Thought, emotions, cognition, memory, motor control and equilibrium are the functions of brain. Nervous system regulates all other systems of human body. ……… "How the functions of nervous system are regulated?"

Experimental studies proving brain and its activator as two different entities

The World renowned Neurologist and Nobel-prize winner Sir John Ecceles has experimentally proved that 'Mind and brain are two different principles.' Mind is superior to brain. He further mentioned, when a thought comes in mind, particular part of cerebral cortex is activated.Brain and activator are two different entities. It means thought does not generate in brain. Thought activates a particular part of the brain ….. "Who must be the activator?"

An emotion activates the hypothalamus, leading to release of neurochemicals. It results into physical expression of the emotion. Sherington , a World renowned Neurologist, has experimentally proved by injecting same neurochemicals into hypothalamus emotion doesnot come back. Emotion is an initiating process. Activation of hypothalamus and release of neurochemicals are intermediate processes. Physical expression is a final result. Thus, emotions do not originate in brain, meaning, brain and emotions are two different entities and it is unidirectional process. ……. "What must be the source of emotion?"
